I apologize for not blogging as much, but the book proposal and end of summer activities have kept me busy.
In the next week or so, I think the book proposal will be finished. It’s starting to look really nice, and I think I have novel information to offer the DHH reading market.

This morning I was shopping at my local grocery store.
While in there, I saw a DHH woman walking down an aisle with a hearing son. It was apparent to me that she had a cochlear implant done in the past. We were surprised to see each other, because obviously we are both local. I didn’t [...]

One last textbook, one more DVD and then I take the test.
I have been reading about hard of hearing children in schools.

I realize I haven’t posted much to this blog lately, but I’m in the process of doing a book about DHH life and advice.
I’ve been looking at several book publishing options too. I hope to have my book proposal finished by the end of January 2009.
Today, I want to talk briefly about a well-known DHH [...]

It’s good to see that Bush has signed into law the Americans With Disabilities Amendments Act of 2008. The Amendments go into effect starting January 1, 2009. Interestingly, Senator Obama was one of the co-sponsors of the ADAAA.
In the past, the courts had interpreted the ADA to be only for those with really severe disabilities, [...]
